UPCOMING VOLUNTEER BUILDING DAY Date: August 6th, 2011 Time: 9.30-2.30pm Place: 111 Millbrook Circle Roswell, GA 30075(off Norcross St.) Each volunteer day begins at 9:30pm and ends at 2:30pm. It is encouraged that you remain for the full duration, but you can volunteer for just a few hours as well. All tools will be provided by the facility manager. Lunch will be provided. Please dress appropriately such as close-toe shoes and clothing that you don't mind soiling. The team leader for this volunteer day will be Aaron Lathe. On that Saturday, he will be available to answer your questions on site. It would be most helpful to us if you reply to confirm your attendance so that we can give the facility manager heads-up.  YAF has another volunteer day for those wanting to get out and get involved in their community. We will work with HomeStretch, a non-profit agency locating in the city of Roswell. It is an agency that has been providing temporary housing to homeless families since 1991...their motto "temporary housing, permanent solutions." Similar to a Habitat build, there will be many activities to be done ranging from minor landscaping to renovation work. We will work with Steve Watson, Homestretch's facility manager. This will be a morning event, and we will need 10-15 volunteers. Adult supervision is mandatory for children under age 16. Make an impact and get messy. PREVIOUS VOLUNTEER BUILDING
On May 1st and 15th of 2010, YAF provided Habitat for Humanity with multiple volunteers to help the Scott family achieve the dream of owning
their own home on Regent Street in Atlanta. According to
Atlanta Habitat every home buyer family saves $35,000-$40,000 on the
cost of their home, keeping house prices low and monthly payments
affordable.
YAF was happy to help the Scott family and to get out there and build a real thing! May 1st, 2010: Habitat for Humanity
Home Build Days #3 and #4 tasks: Shingling the roof, insulating walls and ceiling, siding and caulking, painting exterior – siding, foundation and window trim. Thank you to Steve Neiderfringer's who was the House Leader.

Home Build Day #6 tasks: Touching up exterior painting, installing finish soffit and fascia, interior painting, iInstalling doorknobs and bathroom hardware, installing the porch and adding ramp railings.
